Site Launch: The Monticello Classroom

Screen Shot of The Monticello ClassroomI’m very pleased to announce the launch of an educational site called The Monticello Classroom. This is another project where I worked remotely from my home near Dallas, this time with a small interpretive design studio in Austin. The site serves as an engaging educational resource for parents and teachers on Thomas Jefferson and life at Monticello. I created over 50 XHTML templates with accompanying CSS code, working in cooperation with other creative and technical team members. Just over half the templates are dedicated to a custom content management system allowing subject matter experts to fill it with learning resources, historical imagery, lesson plans, and interactive activities—all related to Jefferson’s Monticello. One of my favorite pages contains an ice cream recipe written in Jefferson’s hand. Take a look at the original site template and the live site.
